ShopPAK is a tremendous cost accounting package, but it doesn’t do financial accounting. We do not support general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or payroll. Instead, we’ve designed our software to work with existing accounting packages so customers can take advantage of investments previously made in accounting software and the procedures they’ve developed over the years. Prospective customers are usually quite satisfied with their accounting and don’t really want to change that aspect of their business. The problem they’re trying to solve is their accounting package doesn’t do an adequate job with estimating, job costing, job tracking, WIP, COGS, shop floor data collection, or inventory – functions we excel at – especially for project-oriented, custom manufacturers. Teaming ShopPAK and your existing accounting package offers great synergy and value.

Once shop drawings are approved and you finalize bill-of-materials, one click of your mouse sends information from your engineering package over to ShopPAK. This eliminates the manual process of updating ShopPAK work order products, product labels, labor, and materials with engineering changes that have occurred post estimate. Because our links automate the process of moving engineering information into ShopPAK, they eliminate data entry errors, significantly decrease the time to detail and order material, and ensure that products listed on work orders match current engineered product definitions and attributes (e.g. width, height, and depth). Having an accurate product list is key to automatically generating product labels, printing shipping tickets, verifying shipments before they leave your shop, and tracking product shipping status. |
